AMERICAN TERRORIST BEGINS

AWBW's new series, American Terrorist, is well underway. It won't see print until the entire graphic novel is completed. This should take place during summer 2009 which means a release of the GN at the end of 2009 or early 2010. For those interested in taking an early look at the series, the first issue(31 pages) is available for digital download at Eagle One Media (www.eagleonemedia.com/comicdownloadstore_IndyPub_AWaveBlueWorld.php) for only $1.49. Just got back from the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD. We didn't exhibit this time, just had fun walking the floor. As you can see, Maddy found a new toy that kept her entertained for the duration of the show. As we went around we saw quite a variety of styles and genres, as well as some promising new talent. I was left feeling positve about the future of independent comics. This is our last show until the big New York Convention next April, where hopefully we'll have the ADRENALINE trade and our next series.

SAN DIEGO

Our first San Diego Comic-Con (as an exhibitor) was a success. It was nice to see both returning customers and new readers stop by our booth. We sold out of ADRENALINE #1 and the exclusive Comic-Con edition of #5 was quite popular. For those of you who picked up our postcard advertising that the series was free to read online, we've got the first 3 issues already up on our Titles page. Issues #4 and #5 will be up soon once we've worked out our new webcomic system. Lastly, since so many readers have expressed interest in completing their collection with the individual issues of Adrenaline, we will be printing up copies of the remaining issues. Stay tuned for future news on that.

ADRENALINE #5 - double exclusives

At the end of ADRENALINE #4, I announced that the series would no longer be distributed to retailers. As a result, I had decided to stop printing individual issues, opting instead to release them online and then collect the entire 8 issue series into a trade. However the convention season made me change my mind. How can I go to great shows like the MoCCA art fest and the San Diego Comic-Con without the latest issue? So I did a short print run of 200 copies, 100 exclusive to the MoCCA and 100 for San Diego. Anyone interested in attaining a print copy of Adrenaline #5 should pick up a copy at one of these shows or email me to send you one.

The Wizard World Philadelphia show was surpisingly successful. Quite a lot of new readers came by our table to give ADRENALINE a shot. (I'm sure there's a pun in there somewhere). We also had a few fans that had been reading stop by to tell us how much they're enjoying the series. Maddy was too tempermental to sign any autographs, but she did pose for many photos. Next stop is this weekend at the MoCCA Art Festival in NY.

WIZARD WORLD PHILLY

Our conventions season officially starts this weekend at Wizard World Philadelphia. Stop by our small press table (yes we decided to move out of artist's alley) to see what's new with Adrenaline and AWBW. We'll have issues 1 through 4 onsale, 13x19 prints of the first 5 covers, and I'll have the complete issue #5 printed out in a binder for you to look through. We'll be revealing the latest news on our new web page, Sunday WebComics and the future of our print publishing plans. Oh, and Maddy will be making her convention debut. She'll be signing autographs but her schedule is tough to lock down, what a premadonna! So many reasons to stop by. See you there.

Turns out Adrenaline #4 is coming out this week May 31. I don't know why Diamond needs to hold on to them for so long, but that's the way it goes. So for anyone out there wondering where the book is, go get it this week.

We still encourage everyone to buy from their favorite retailer, but if you can't find a copy, or you want to pick up the full set, they are now available at the AWBW store.

It is confirmed. Adrenaline #3 will come out tomorrow, February 28. I'm glad I was able to find that out 1 day before the fact. Midtown comics actually had it listed this weekend and some store in Georgia is already selling 2 copies on ebay. Maybe I should get my information from them. Again, sorry for the delay. I hope you enjoy #3.

So I just realized that Adrenaline #3 didn't come out this week. I am surprised by this because the comics arrived at Diamond on the 12th. In the past this has been enough time for them to get them out on the shelves. But I guess this time it is going to take another week. I apologize. It is difficult to guess when the release date will be even when I know when I shipped them out. We are all at the mercy of Diamond distributors. But I don't see any reason why #3 won't be out next week, February 28th. Sorry about that.

We would like to announce a new member to the Wave Blue World family. And I mean that literally. Madeleine Chin-Tanner was born February 14. Not only was she born on Valentine's Day, but she was born in a very special year in the Chinese calender, the year of the Golden Pig. So she is our little Piglet.
